Two scrapbooks and a few loose papers related to Robert E. Siegel, a private in Co. B of the 318th Infantry Regiment during World War II who was killed in action in France in Sept. 1944. The scrapbooks, compiled by his mother Hannah R. (London) Siegel, contain clippings, photographs, copies of Robert's letters, and condolence letters. The loose papers include copies of letters to Mrs. Siegel from other members of the regiment describing Robert's death and a few letters regarding her unsuccessful attempt to get him awarded the Bronze Star in 1968.
